Working with vintage jewellery it is hard to not to have heard of the Duchess of Windsor, her jewellery collection is legendry.
Creating the most beautiful jewellery with the designers of cartier through out the 1930s – 1950s, Allot of her pieces were gifts from her husband the Prince of wales ( they’re love story being something films are made of! read about it here-http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wallis,_Duchess_of_Windsor ). Tonight- 30th November, 20 pieces from the collection will be put up for auction, estimates in the millions for each piece. From the designs you will see in the video below countless reproductions have been created- I have a reproduction of the Flamingo brooch that you can see. All of the jewels are a work of art & a little bit of shiny history, I wish i could see them in person, but with prices for tickets at £750 just to attend the auction i will just have to dream.
